What is family therapy?
Family therapy focuses primarily on relationships and interactions within the family and on how you live together as a family.
It can help when conflicts, arguments or worries take up too much space and you need a shared language for what is happening between you.
Families with children and adult families
In families with children, parents often make contact because a child or an adult is struggling. Through conversation, we decide whether the whole family should be invited to a joint session.
Children may participate if they want to, but it is never expected. The adults are responsible for the situation and the relationship, and therefore also for finding solutions.
For adult families, therapy may focus on relationships between parents, adult children, siblings, grandparents or other important family members.

Through family therapy, I help you notice the particular ways your family functions. We explore how you handle conflict and disagreement when they arise.

- Challenges balancing work and family life
Milestones that can put pressure on the family

- When children become teenagers

Professional help and guidance
You may not be fully aware of the patterns and culture that characterise your family. As you become aware of what happens between you, new ways of relating can emerge.
Family therapy is often short-term and focused on specific situations in everyday life.
